We are glad to announce that we are launching first edition of our flagship initiative “Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Grant Fund (TANSEED) 2021′ in association with Headstart Network Foundation. This initiative aims to promote innovation and startup culture by providing financial grants to budding entrepreneurs.

Registration Process (January 2nd – 25th, 2021)
The First Edition of TANSEED 2021 was announced in the month of January 2021 and applications were invited online through startuptn.in. The StartupTN team along with Headstart had created awareness via multiple digital and print mediums and had garnered a total of 1399 Applications by the end of 25th January, 2021,which being the deadline.
Shortlisting of Applications (January 25th – February 6th, 2021)
The applications were shortlisted, by a team from StartupTN and Headstart Network Foundation, as per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the TANSEED Guidelines. In addition, the following parameters were further for evaluation; Team, Market Potential, Traction , Impact Potential and the Product.
35 startups were shortlisted by the team out of 1399. Email communications were sent to the shortlisted startups in order to confirm their participation and get self-declaration from them adhering to the terms & conditions of TANSEED and that they satisfy the criteria for availing the grant.
Bootcamp (February 8th – 11th, 2021)
The 35 selected startups were onboarded to attend online bootcamp/knowledge sharing webinar sessions through Zoom. Out of which 34 confirmed their participation. Headstart Network Foundation has done a wonderful job in curating the right set of knowledge sharing workshops for the Startups, starting with
1. FireSide Chat: How to create a truly differentiated product/service? by Arul Murugan, SnackExperts
2. Essentials of Storytelling (Cont.) by Mr. Rajesh Pandit, Storywallah
3. How to better your Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy? by Mr. Akshay Surendra, Head of User Growth, Dunzo.
4. Basics of Creating an Effective Pitch Deck by Mr. Pradeep Yuvaraj, Founder, Prezantim
Pre-Final Pitch (February 12th & 13th, 2021) Pre-Final Pitch was conducted on 12th & 13th February, 2021 for 34 shortlisted startups that participated in the Bootcamp. However, 2 startups didn’t participate in the pre-final pitch due to internal team issues.
The participating startups were evaluated on the basis of following criteria ; Team Potential , Market Potential, Product, Traction , Moat/X Factor by a jury panel constituted by Headstart Network Foundation consisting of Domain Experts, Investment analysts and associates, partners from Venture Firms, Founders & CEOs. Out of the participating 32 startups, 21 startups were shortlisted for the Final Pitch.
Final Pitch (February 14th, 2021)
The 21 Startups shortlisted from the pre-final pitch, were allocated 5 minutes for pitching and 5 minutes for Q&A by the Jury Panel. The scoring metrics and evaluation is the same as followed for the pre-final pitch.
