Startup TN in association with Startup India conducted the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal Workshop on 15 February 2021 from 10:30 AM to 01:00PM to encourage the participation of startups in public procurement activities. Mr. Ramesh Mahadevan (GeM Business Facilitator for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) was the speaker for this workshop. It was an online event which was conducted via Zoom.

The workshop started with a brief introduction of Startup TN and Startup TN Team. After the introduction of the Speaker, Mr. Ramesh gave a brief introduction about what is GeM Portal and what are the benefits of using GeM Portal for selling any product to the Government.
As the workshop progressed, the speaker explained in detail what are the advantages of GeM Portal and how to apply on the GeM portal website. Speaker explained in a very simple way to all the participants how to register yourself, how to register your company, how to take part in bidding, what documents are needed, how to get your queries solved on GeM Portal, etc.
After the explanation of the whole GeM portal website and how to register on GeM portal, Speaker explained in depth, what are the benefits for the Startups if they register on GeM.
Finally, the Speaker gave a live demo of the website to make participants familiar with the dashboard. He also explained each point on the dashboard and how to use the dashboard with ease.
Followed by the Q&A session for 30 mins in which participants asked various doubts they had related to GeM portal and the Speaker tried to answer all of them in simple way so that everyone understands his point.
The participants were encouraged to register on GeM Portal and to contact the StartupTN team and Mr. Ramesh Mahadevan, to clarify any doubts / queries.
